στο λήμμα Βασίλης Ρώτας (Βασίλης Ρώτας (Χιλιομόδι Κορινθίας, 5 Μαΐου 1889 - Αθήνα, 30 Μαΐου 1977)· Έλληνας συγγραφέας, στρατιωτικός, κριτικός και μεταφραστής· σπούδασε φιλολογία στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών και θέατρο στη Δραματική Σχολή του Ωδείου Αθηνών· στη συνέχεια φοίτησε στη Σχολή Εφέδρων Αξιωματικών Κέρκυρας· το 1920 παντρεύτηκε την παιδική του φίλη Κατερίνη Γιαννακοπούλου, με την οποία απέκτησαν τρία παιδιά: τον Ρένο (γιατρό) (1922-2012), την Μαρούλα (ηθοποιό) (1925-1996) και τον Νικηφόρο (συνθέτη) (1929-2004)· αποστρατεύτηκε στα 1926 με το βαθμό του συνταγματάρχη και από τότε αφοσιώθηκε στη λογοτεχνία, τη μετάφραση και το θέατρο· από το τέλος της δεκαετίας του '40 συντρόφισσά του ήταν η συγγραφέας Βούλα Δαμιανάκου (1922-2016), με την οποία έζησε από το 1954 στη Ν. Μάκρη Αττικής)
