στο λήμμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος (Σταύρος Νιάρχος· γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα στις 3 Ιουλίου 1909· πέθανε στη Ζυρίχη στις 15 Απριλίου 1996· Έλληνας εφοπλιστής, επιχειρηματίας, συλλέκτης έργων τέχνης και ιδρυτής του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος· γιος του Σπύρου Νιάρχου, εμπόρου λαδιών, και της Ευγενίας Κουμάνταρου· σπούδασε νομική στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών· ασχολήθηκε με την οικογενειακή επιχείρηση αλευρόμυλων· ασχολήθηκε επιτυχώς με τη ναυτιλία, κυρίως με τις μεταφορές πετρελαίου, αποκτώντας τεράστια περιουσία· το 1958 ίδρυσε τα ναυπηγεία Σκαραμαγκά, το 1955 έκανε τη βασική επένδυση για τη δημιουργία των Διυλιστηρίων Ασπροπύργου· η συλλογή έργων τέχνης του, ήταν μια από τις σπουδαιότερες διεθνώς· απέκτησε τέσσερα παιδιά με την Ευγενία Λιβανού)
